Please don't take that as meaning Mr. Obama. Mr. Potato-head is my fall-guy.

I'm just an ex-Republican trying to figure out where I fit. All I know for sure is that the world as defined by the Bush/McCain party doesn't work for me at all.

End of Aug. and the ad is still playing in OH (It has been edited a bit, lost it's creativity.) But it must be working on some demography. Scary!

I think I'll vote for Mr. Potato-head. Can't do any worse than what we have now (Mr 'be nice or I'll beat you up!!!') Not someone I want as a role model for my kids.

I'm amazed the McCain ad is still running, but it is on several times a day in my redneck part of the world. It must be working on some demographic (that's a really scary thought.)

I must say that I'm with you on the whole Paris thing. There is a level of intelligence there that crashes the whole rich, blond stereotype.

Thanks for making me laugh.

I"ll try not to think about the implications for the future.

I agree 100% on half of what you wrote. I found the Paris video hysterically funny and was astonished at the level of her sarcasm and her energy policy statement. Up to the point of viewing the video, I had an extraordinarily low opinion of Paris, based on a grand total of twenty seconds of thought I'd given the matter. I was wrong. She is extremely clever, regardless of whether she wrote her own script or was smart enough to hire the person who did. And the delivery is spot on.

On the other hand, I think the polls show that the McCain video only seems stupid to those of us who actually think about the issues and the campaign, and I include those of us on BOTH sides. However, the people behind the video are not stupid, in fact they're some of the most accomplished manipulators the world has ever seen. I believe that they realized that the rest of the great unwashed could be swayed either by the overt message, or perhaps even by subliminal ones involving race and sex. No I disagree 100% with the other half of your assessment, and I fear that it's going to be a very long three months.
